Visuals Using Sources For My Final Project

Visual #1

This visual is a text analysis of two websites that I will be using for my final project. The first website is the history of Creighton Hall in North Omaha, which is showcased by the collumn on the left. The second website is the history of North Omaha that disscusses the development of Creighton University in North Omaha. This is being showcased by the collumn on the right. The visual is showcasing an analysis of common words used in both articles. The words that are being compared are: creighton, north, Omaha, university, and college. On the y-axis the frequencies of how many times those particular words are used in the article is being showcased. As you can see when comparing the text analysis, they contain similar words, but are not used at the same frequencies in each article. The most commonly used between both articles was university. (You might need to press reset to display the comparation of all five most frequently used words)

Visual #2

This visual is a text analysis of two websites that I will be using for my final project. The first website is the history of Creighton Hall in North Omaha. The second websitie that is being compared to the first website is the history of North Omaha that disscusses the development of Creighton University in North Omaha. The visual is a word cloud that visualizes the most frequently used words of the two websites that are being compared. Although words that appear more frequently will be positioned roughly toward the center, the color and absolute position of the words are not important. Less frequently used words will be positioned closer to the cloud’s outer edge. As shown in visual #1, the most frequently used words are creighton, north, Omaha, university, and college. Less requently used words were 24th, building, campus, and hall.

This visual is a text analysis of two websites that I will be using for my final project. The first website is about the Creighton campus that expanded to Phoenix, Arizonia. This article disscusses the expansion and development proccess the univeristy has gone through. This article is showcased by the collumn on the left. The second website disscusses the future of Creighton’s campus. This article showcased the expansion and development of The opening of a new first-year residential hall on 23rd street  and a new $75 million School of Medicine. This article is showcased by the collumn on the right. The visual is showcasing an analysis of common words used in both articles. The words that are being compared are: creighton, health, school, university, and students. On the y-axis the frequencies of how many times those particular words are used in the article is being showcased. As you can see when comparing the text analysis, they contain similar words, but are not used at the same frequencies in each article. The most commonly used between both articles was also university, similar to the text anaylsis of visual #1.
